Severance, a job not for you but for your other self

Severance is an incredibly unique and mind bending thriller that takes the concept of work life balance to an absolute and terrifying extreme. The story follows a group of office workers at a highly secretive and very mysterious corporation who have voluntarily undergone a controversial medical procedure. This surgery completely separates their work memories from their personal lives, meaning the version of them at the office has absolutely no idea who they are on the outside. Everything seems perfectly fine and completely routine until a former colleague suddenly appears in the real world, forcing the main character to realize that their weirdly sterile workplace is hiding some very dark secrets.

The atmosphere of the show is an amazing mix of dark corporate satire and deeply unsettling psychological suspense. You spend the entire time watching these characters navigate a bright and bizarrely empty office maze, desperately trying to figure out what their actual jobs are and why they are being kept so isolated. The pacing is a brilliant slow burn that constantly feeds you tiny and totally intriguing clues without ever giving away the bigger picture too early.
