Directed by Jeff Nichols, Midnight Special is a tense sci-fi road movie. Michael Shannon plays Roy, a desperate father who goes on the run to protect his uniquely gifted son, Alton. Chased by a strange religious cult and the federal government, they hit the road with the help of a state trooper and an old friend. It is an emotional, mysterious chase filled with incredible powers and beautiful visuals.
